'Little Miss Sunshine' Star Abigail Breslin's Father Passes Away after Contracting COVID-19

American actress Abigail Breslin announced the sad passing of her father, Michael Breslin, in a long and emotional post on her Instagram page.

Actress Abigail Breslin's father, Michael Breslin, has died at 78 after testing positive for COVID-19. She revealed the sad news in a lengthy emotional post on her Instagram page and wrote:

"My daddy... Oh wow. Hard to write this. Harder than I thought. I'm in shock and devastation."

Abigail revealed that her father, who she described as a sweet, perfect, amazing, heroic, and wonderful person, died at 6:32 PM EST due to COVID-19. She appreciated the love and support shown to her and her family.

The "Scream Queens" actress listed many things her father loved, including taking pictures and flying planes, music from the 50s and 60s, and good couches.

She ended her emotional caption by stating that the family loved Michael and would always love him. The 24-year-old expressed that she misses her father and cannot wait to see him again, adding that she would never forget him.

With her father's demise, Abigail joins the list of celebrities who have lost loved ones to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abigail accompanied her post with five pictures of her late father, including one that showed him posing beside an aircraft and another adorable snapshot that showed her posing with him.

Many fans and celebrities commented on Abigail's emotional post, including actress and home cook Emma Myles, who commiserated with her over the sad loss, writing:

"I'm so sorry. I'm thinking of you. And my heart breaks for where you are in this very long and horrible emotional journey."

Graphic designer Catherine Lowe also sent her condolences to Abigail, thanking her for sharing a little about her late father, adding that thoughts would be with her and her family.
